Business Information
Jawa motorcycles have a rich history in India, with production beginning in 1960 under the direction of Ideal Jawa India Ltd in Mysore. The Yezdi factory, which was located along the railway line heading towards Mysore Junction, was inaugurated by the Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, in 1961. Over the years, Jawa motorcycles have become an iconic brand in India, thanks to their unique design, exceptional performance, and unrivaled durability.
Other Information
Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles have a loyal following in India, with many riders still using classic models like the Jawa 250 Type 353/04 (designated as ""A"" type), Yezdi 250 'B' Type, Yezdi 250 Roadking, Yezdi 350 Twin (Type 634), and Yezdi 250 Monarch to this day. These vintage bikes are highly sought-after by collectors, particularly those with fuel tank paddings and ignition systems mounted on the fuel tank. Although production of these bikes ceased in 1996, fans of the brand have reason to celebrate - Yezdi was recently relaunched by Mahindra & Mahindra through their Classic Legends subsidiary. The new Yezdi lineup includes three models - the Roadster, Scrambler, and Adventure - and will be sold alongside the popular Jawa motorcycles in India.
