The Poona YMCA was founded in 1884. It is one of the oldest YMCA's in India. It was started in a small way at 6, Arjun Marg (Burnett Road) opposite Race Course Office. By the grace of God, we constructed YMCA International Home & Activity Centre at 382, New Rasta Peth (Quarter gate) in the year 1992. Now it is a Landmark in the city of Pune, which caters to the young people, members and community at large.
YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) is a membership organization. It is cosmopolitan in its membership policies. Therefore any person, male or female, irrespective of race, religion, caste, community, class or creed, who are in agreement with the objectives of the Association, can become a member.
The YMCA runs various programmes and activities, hostels, educational, games and sports, cultural and community development activities, religious and interfaith programmes, through its units and projects situated in cities, towns, villages and remote areas of the country.
