The Infosys IT Park in Pune is one of its kind egg-shaped building. A dream of the world renowned architect, Hafeez Contractor, has been turned into reality by Strudcom in collaboration with Sterling Engineering Consultancy Pvt Ltd, Mumbai. It was a real challenge from the structural point of view. The stability is guaranteed by combination structural steel, reinforced concrete and tensile steel cables. This building has become a landmark structure, not only in Pune but in the whole of India.
Every once in while, we are tested for our abilities and are spurred to deliver the best. Like the Bungalow at Alibaug in Maharashtra and the Andaman Walkway did it for us.
Stressing the tendons and then placing the concrete in position while maintaining the stress in the concrete and prestressing tendons through an external forces system, Precast Structures are now being deployed for specialised projects. And Strudcom has been at the forefront in this application. Among other projects, the Panchshil Club House at Pune is one designed using precast.
The Post Tensioned technique has also found a wide acceptance, today. We have designed bridges, roads, culverts, etc with post tensioned system. We have also designed beams from 6M to 30M spans with minimum depth to meet the specific architectural requirements and have successfully executed buildings with beams to carry loads of floating columns and large spans for industrial loadings.
Retrofitting, the restitution of strength of a building or a structure that it had prior to damage, is a service provided by Strudcom. Options as convenient to the conditions are done either using fibre wrapping, microconcreting, carbon laminates or by providing MS Girder/Struts, after the practical study on visiting the site.
Strudcom Consultants undertakes third party Proof Checking in evaluation of design and execution for better assurance of the proposed design. For any problems identified, we provide solutions and actions points. Our services include structural design with value engineering, drawings scrutiny for compliance with the provisions of tender documents and technical specifications, with the provisions of design standard codes, conformity between design calculations and drawings, and detailing, clarity of details, and drawing contents with respect to ease of execution on site.
We also offer Structural Audit services for old buildings and structures by conducting technical survey of the property to assess its general health. We verify the design with respect to relevant IS Codes, prepare report presentations and recommend remedial measures, if required.
