EPABX
EPABX is an abbreviation that stands for Electronic
Private Automatic Branch Exchange. It comes under
the category of business phone systems which serve
a business environment. Multi-line connections can
be made through a single telephonic connection.
EPABX has proven to be of immense use in communicating
within office, making routine work simpler. It can
be defined as a switching system for
calls that enables both internal as
well as external switching functions in an organization.
Typically up to 10,000 subscribers can be accommodated
by a single EPABX system. EPABX as a business phone
system possesses a versatile range of
functions.
IP Phones
A VoIP phone or IP
Phone uses voice over IP (VoIP)
technologies for placing and transmitting telephone
calls over an IP network, such as the Internet,
instead of the traditional public switched telephone
network (PSTN). VoIP phones are connected to
an IP phone system using LAN (Local Area Network)
or the Internet. Most IP phones are using SIP (Session
Initiation Protocol), no matter if those are hardware
and software telephones. VoIP phone
full advantage of converged voice and data networks
while retaining the convenience and user-friendliness
you expect from a business phone. IP Phones
can help improve productivity by meeting the needs
of users throughout your organization.
PRI Lines
- A PRI line is end to end Digital circuit.
- A PRI (Primary Rate Interface) line is a form
of ISDN (Integrated Services digital Network) line
which is a telecommunication standard that enables
traditional phone lines to carry voice, data and
video traffic, among others
- There is only one line physically terminating
on the customer PBX but still a PRI line can receive/send
30 calls simultaneously!
- Each channel in a PRI line provides 64 Kbps for
data transmission.
-
A PRI line can connect to both Analog/Mixed EPABX
systems and also the newer IP PBX systems. A PRI
Card / Interface might be required to terminate
the PRI circuit on the PBX.
CONFERENCING
SOLUTIONS
AUDIO
CONFERENCING
An audio
conference system / Polycom Sound Station is a
device which is not only for an audio conference
call to happen over IP or PSTN but it has additional
features for a professional environment. The features
are noise suppression, extendable microphones,
smooth keypad, and microphones with echo cancellations,
the voice can be reached to the other end by sitting
from any corner of the room without any bowings
or movements from the chair. Most of the devices
support 10-15 ft. distance to cover. This can
really help a meeting to happen smoothly for long
hours too. Mute and hold buttons are helpful for
a conference call.
VIDEO
CONFERENCING
ideoconferencing is the conduct
of a video teleconference by a set of telecommunication
technologies which allow two or more locations
to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and
audio transmissions. Videoconferencing differs
from videophone calls in that it's designed to
serve a conference or multiple locations rather
than individuals. Videoconferencing has made significant
inroads in business, education, medicine and media.
Like all long distance communications technologies
(such as phone and Internet), by reducing the
need to travel to bring people together the technology
also contributes to reductions in carbon emissions,
thereby helping to reduce global warming.
INTERACTIVE
SMART BOARD
The Smart Board interactive whiteboard operates
as part of a system that includes the interactive
whiteboard, a computer, a projector and whiteboarding
software .A projector connected to the computer
displays the desktop image on the interactive
whiteboard. The whiteboard accepts touch input
from a finger, pen or other solid object. The
Smart Board interactive whiteboard uses DViT (Digital
Vision Touch) technology to detect and respond
to touch interactions on the interactive whiteboard
surface. This camera-based touch technology for
interactive whiteboards and interactive displays
uses digital cameras and proprietary software
and firmware to detect finger or pen contact with
the screen. That contact is then interpreted as
finger or pen activity. Smart's digital ink operates
by using an active digitizer that controls the
PC input for writing capabilities such as drawing
or handwriting.
PROJECTOR
An LCD projector is a type of video projector
for displaying video, images or computer data
on a screen or other flat surface. To display
images, LCD (liquid-crystal display) projectors
typically send light from a metal-halide lamp
through a prism or series of dichroic filters
that separates light to three polysilicon panels
– one each for the red, green and blue components
of the video signal. As polarized light passes
through the panels individual pixels can be opened
to allow light to pass or closed to block the
light. The combination of open and closed pixels
can produce a wide range of colors and shades
in the projected image. Video projectors are widely
used for many applications such as, conference
room presentations, classroom training, home theatre
and concerts
